Columbus Day
Christopher Columbus was a Genoese explorer, navigator, and colonizer born in the republic of Genoa. He completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean, he was not the first European explorers to reach the Americas, his voyage led to the first lasting European contact with the Americas. Thus Columbus day was invented years after we still celebrate it today.
