1. Saint Patrick was a 5th-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland known as the “Apostle of Ireland”, he is the primary patron saint Ireland, along with saints Brigit and Columba.
2. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.
3. Saint Patrick’s day is cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick.
